Everything You Need To Know About Hemp Tea

 • Click Here To Find Out More About:
 • Medicinal Cannabis For Cancer

Considering the fact that tea has been around since 2700 BC, it belongs to one of the oldest beverages with over 1000 different varieties. It is the second most popular drink in the world, only outranked by water. No wonder then, that the global tea revenue was around USD 214.76 billion in 2019. Over 159 million US citizens drink tea every single day. So, it is not a surprise that even hemp tea is gaining quick popularity considering its medicinal benefits.

People have been using hemp tea as a beverage long before the legalization of cannabis products began. Cannabidiol or CBD has gained a lot of attention in recent years especially due to the recent studies that showed positive signs of therapeutic benefits associated with it.

There are two main types of cannabinoid receptors in our body. THC or tetrahydrocannabinol binds with the receptors that are mostly present in our brain. It causes the high that cannabis is associated with. However, CBD, unlike its counterpart, doesn’t produce that high as it is thought to work with a different set of receptors in our body that are mostly associated with feelings of relaxation and well-being. That’s why hemp, having more CBD and very few THC compounds within its chemical properties, is known to produce a calming effect, reduce anxiety, and relieve pain – the kind of health benefits CBD is commonly related to.

What are the ingredients found in Hemp tea?

The most important component of hemp is CBD extract. There are primarily two different types of extracted CBD – full spectrum extract and 99% pure CBD concentrate. Which one is better for consumption is still a matter of debate and something that needs solid evidence that is yet to be found. However, there are some talks about CBD becoming a better version when it comes to its medicinal properties because of all the other elements present in the whole plant including cannabinoids, terpenes (aroma and flavor agents), and phytochemicals. Below are the three things that consumers should consider while purchasing a pack of hemp tea:

 • Is it from industrial hemp sourcing?
 • Is the extracted CBD is a full-spectrum (one with the whole plant)?
 • Is the initial dosage level 5-15 mg?

The production and sale of hemp products were legalized in the 2018 Farm Bill. By federal law, hemp can’t have more than 0.3% THC or it would be considered marijuana. This ensures that Hemp tea would actually be safe for regular drinking purposes. However, it is always good to keep an eye on how you feel after having a cup of hemp tea. If you see any signs of drowsiness, you may want to try brewing a milder tea using fewer leaves or stop using the product altogether if the signs persist.

What are the benefits?

Hemp tea, also commonly named CBD tea, is a mixture of crushed leaves, cannabis flowers, and seeds along with other essential herbs. Below are a few health benefits of it:

Helps Reduce Anxiety Issues:

In a 2019 study, researchers analyzed a sample population of 72 adults with concerns related to anxiety and poor sleep. The primary objective was to determine if CBD could improve the sleep and/or anxiety issues that they had. The anxiety score decreased in 57 patients within the first month and stayed less throughout the study period. Even the sleep scores improved in 48 patients within the first month but fluctuated over time. Although controlled clinical trials might be needed, the researchers concluded that CBD might be an effective treatment alternative for anxiety-related disorders.

So, a cup or two of hemp tea per day is not a bad option when it comes to calming effects. In addition to CBD, hemp tea can also contain herbs such as hibiscus and chamomile which assist in the overall relaxation of our body.

Improves the Quality of Sleep:

According to this Harvard Health article, people suffering from anxiety, depression, or other post-traumatic stress disorders take longer to fall asleep. One sleep laboratory study found that youngsters having anxiety disorder slept less deeply as compared to a control group of healthy children. As CBD is known to have therapeutic effects and act as a treatment for anxiety and stress-related problems, hemp tea can, therefore, act as a possible remedy for poor sleep as well.

Improves Digestive System and Fights Chronic Pain:

Gastrointestinal problems are one of the common reasons for the use of cannabis. A few of these conditions include inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis), gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Cannabinoid receptors, CB1 and CB2, are found in the gut-nerves also called the enteric nervous system (ENS). Any disorder in the gut is thought to involve ENS and hence the cannabinoid receptors are an attractive target for treatment. As THC and CBD can interact with these receptors, medical treatment with cannabis can be an effective alternative. Hence, a cup of CBD tea may help in keeping our guts happy!

When it comes to chronic pain, a study in the Journal of Experimental Medicine suggests that CBD can help in reducing pain and inflammation. It also reduces muscle spasms or stiffness that might lead to pain. Check out the testimonials of some patients who used medical cannabis as a treatment for chronic pain.

Although CBD is known to have several other health benefits, additional research is needed to give concrete evidence on these claims.

How to Make Hemp Tea

If you are already a regular tea drinker, making hemp tea would need just a couple of extra steps, and you are done. Here is a simple way of making CBD tea:

 1. Grind the CBD buds into a fine consistency and add to any tea infuser of your choice.
 2. Depending on how much CBD buds you’re using, I would say for safe results use 1 liter of water and bring it to boil.
 3. Add the infuser into the pan of water and let it simmer for up to 20 minutes.
 4. Remove the infuser using a filter and pour the content into a storage container.
 5. As cannabinoids are fat-soluble, it is better if you use an additional fatty source such as coconut oil or milk before drinking as it increases absorption rates and helps us harness everything it has to provide us with.
 6. Mix thoroughly before pouring into a cup, and you’re ready with a healthy hemp tea.

Conclusion

As the awareness of the health benefits of CBD grows, the use of hemp tea will continue to increase. The continued legalization of medical marijuana products in several states in the US will also assist in the marketing of hemp tea products. Currently, all operations happen within the states due to legal restrictions which increases the overall price of the products. But in the coming years, as things change, hemp tea will be more accessible and affordable to regular consumers.

Long shots dashed hopes of favorites in Derby race

Monday, May 9, 2005

Saturday’s running of the Kentucky Derby left favorites in dry churned up dust, as speedster Spanish Chestnut forced an early pace that only long-shot horses fully answered. The two top finishers, Giacomo and Closing Argument ran past race favorites Bellamy Road and hopeful Bandini, who came off the starting gate well and into the first turn. But they faded under a blistering early pace that at the half-mile pole was second fastest in race history.

Only Afleet Alex, showing at third, applied salve to the wounded crowd of 154,000 ticket-tearing fans. Betting for this year’s race totaled a record $103.3 million counting both on- and off-track wagering. A 2 dollar wager on the winning horse Giacomo paid $102.60.

TV viewership in top metropolitan markets was down only slightly from the previous year, which considering the wagering shows no lack of interest in the race:

Win: Giacomo $102.60
Place: Closing Argument: $45.80
Show: Afleet Alex: $19.80

Leverage In Forex Trading The Real Dangers Of Too Much Leverage!

 • Click Here To Find Out More About:
 • Forex Fundamental Analysis Trading Strategies

Submitted by: Mike D Weaver

You have been lied to about using leverage in Forex trading!

Why?

Because when people talk about leverage in Forex they focus in on its unique selling point, which is that it enables a trader to control large trading volumes with only a small investment.

Forex brokers are especially keen to tell you about how much leverage they will give you just to get you to open an account with them. A typical broker will often advertise the ability to leverage your account with them at a hundred to one.

This means that you can trade 100 times what you deposit. For every 1 dollar you deposit you can trade $100, so if you have $1000 you could place a trade worth $100,000.

So, where is the dishonesty?

Well, the dishonesty is that brokers are not usually up-front about the risk involved when using leverage in Forex, and just how easily you can lose your $1000 when using this amount of leverage.

If you use leverage of a hundred to one in a trade worth $100,000, you only need to put forward $1000 and your broker will in effect ‘loan’ you the other $99,000 needed to cover your trade. In order to make such a large trade, you have to put forward a percentage of it as security, or as leverage.

In Forex trading we all know how volatile the market can be, and a trade will often move against you before turning round and going into profit. If your trade moved against you by just 1% it would wipe out the $1000 you put forward yourself.

Now your broker will not be prepared to lose money himself on your gamble, and will act to protect himself from losing on your trade. As soon as your 1% of the trade is wiped out he will close your trade for you. This is called a ‘Margin Call’, and is necessary for your broker to ensure they don’t actually put their own money at risk.

Now the trade you placed may have been a good one which turned around and moved into a profitable position. It’s too bad you won’t make money on it though, because your trade got cancelled when it made a small movement against you first.

You just lost $1000 in the space of a few seconds because you were too heavily leveraged!

So, what have we learnt?

The important lesson here is that when you apply the principles of leverage in Forex trading, do not allow your account to become too heavily leveraged. You may as well flush your money down the toilet as place it on a trade where you have no room to manoeuvre.

When leverage of a hundred to one is advertised it means that this is the maximum you can leverage your account – by 100 times what you deposit. You don’t actually have to use the full amount of leverage offered though, and the less leverage you use the more breathing space you will have if your trade starts to move against you.

Wikinews interviews World Wide Web co-inventor Robert Cailliau

Thursday, August 16, 2007

The name Robert Cailliau may not ring a bell to the general public, but his invention is the reason why you are reading this: Dr. Cailliau together with his colleague Sir Tim Berners-Lee invented the World Wide Web, making the internet accessible so it could grow from an academic tool to a mass communication medium. Last January Dr. Cailliau retired from CERN, the European particle physics lab where the WWW emerged.

Wikinews offered the engineer a virtual beer from his native country Belgium, and conducted an e-mail interview with him (which started about three weeks ago) about the history and the future of the web and his life and work.

Wikinews: At the start of this interview, we would like to offer you a fresh pint on a terrace, but since this is an e-mail interview, we will limit ourselves to a virtual beer, which you can enjoy here.

Robert Cailliau: Yes, I myself once (at the 2nd international WWW Conference, Chicago) said that there is no such thing as a virtual beer: people will still want to sit together. Anyway, here we go.

Bodybuilding Training For Hardgainers Unique Approach To Training For Massive Muscle Gains!

 • Click Here To Find Out More About:
 • Sarms Results

By Andy Mikulka

I was always wondering why my friends were getting bigger in the gym while my muscles did not respond to training as much as I would expect. Then I realized that as a skinny hardgainer I will have to do much more than just “train hard” and “lift heavy” – as many of the bodybuilding “gurus” and magazines would advice. After a bit of research about ectomorph body type I realized there are many genetic challenges hardgainers have to overcome in order to be able to build muscle.

One of the reasons why hardgainers struggle with “getting bigger” is a higher ratio of type one muscle fibers in hardgainer’s body. In general, there are several types of muscle fiber in our body, but the two that we deal with the most are type one and type two muscle fibers. Type one muscle fibers are your endurance related fibers (e.g. marathon runners have a higher ratio of type one muscle fibers). At the other hand, type two muscle fibers are the ones you get your power from, these are explosive power type fibers. The way hardgainers should target these two muscle groups is completely different than what a “normal” bodybuilding program would suggest!

Other reason for very slow (if any) muscle growth is the fact that hardgainers are biologically challenged when it comes to neuro-muscular communication, which results into poor muscular response and slower muscle building process. In other words, when you’re working out and lifting weights, your type two muscle fibers are much harder to target. Research has shown that only 20 to 30 percent of them are actually hit by your heavy lifting training! That is why the “lift heavy approach” does not really work for hardgainers.

So what advice would I give to skinny guys that do not want to be disappointed seeing all their hard work gone to waste?

One way to overcome the hardgainer’s training challenge with targeting type II muscle fibers is to gradually increase your body’s neuro-muscular communication throughout your workouts by using a “Rest Pause” format. This format is used in many different variations. The aproach I am going to show you might be a bit controversial but it is definitely worth trying because it can greatly magnify your bodybuilding results:

– Pick up a weight that is about 50% of your one-rep max

– Perform 5 repetitions and then rack the weight

– Wait 10 seconds

– Perform another 5 repetitions and rack the weight again

– Wait 10 seconds

– Perform another 5 reps & so on…

By gradually increasing overall workload in your sets with this twisted “Rest-Pause” format, you will slowly activate your Type II muscle fibers. The ten second rest periods will give you just enough time to catch your breath and regenerate energy for the following set. This technique dramatically improves neuro-muscular communication and results in 3 times better muscle growth.

When applied correctly, this “advanced” bodybuilding training technique is actually the HOLY GRAIL for hardgainer training.

Enjoy and lift smart!

Saturn moon Enceladus may have salty ocean

Thursday, June 23, 2011

NASA’s Cassini–Huygens spacecraft has discovered evidence for a large-scale saltwater reservoir beneath the icy crust of Saturn’s moon Enceladus. The data came from the spacecraft’s direct analysis of salt-rich ice grains close to the jets ejected from the moon. The study has been published in this week’s edition of the journal Nature.

Data from Cassini’s cosmic dust analyzer show the grains expelled from fissures, known as tiger stripes, are relatively small and usually low in salt far away from the moon. Closer to the moon’s surface, Cassini found that relatively large grains rich with sodium and potassium dominate the plumes. The salt-rich particles have an “ocean-like” composition and indicate that most, if not all, of the expelled ice and water vapor comes from the evaporation of liquid salt-water. When water freezes, the salt is squeezed out, leaving pure water ice behind.

Cassini’s ultraviolet imaging spectrograph also recently obtained complementary results that support the presence of a subsurface ocean. A team of Cassini researchers led by Candice Hansen of the Planetary Science Institute in Tucson, Arizona, measured gas shooting out of distinct jets originating in the moon’s south polar region at five to eight times the speed of sound, several times faster than previously measured. These observations of distinct jets, from a 2010 flyby, are consistent with results showing a difference in composition of ice grains close to the moon’s surface and those that made it out to the E ring, the outermost ring that gets its material primarily from Enceladean jets. If the plumes emanated from ice, they should have very little salt in them.

“There currently is no plausible way to produce a steady outflow of salt-rich grains from solid ice across all the tiger stripes other than salt water under Enceladus’s icy surface,” said Frank Postberg, a Cassini team scientist at the University of Heidelberg in Germany.

The data suggests a layer of water between the moon’s rocky core and its icy mantle, possibly as deep as about 50 miles (80 kilometers) beneath the surface. As this water washes against the rocks, it dissolves salt compounds and rises through fractures in the overlying ice to form reserves nearer the surface. If the outermost layer cracks open, the decrease in pressure from these reserves to space causes a plume to shoot out. Roughly 400 pounds (200 kilograms) of water vapor is lost every second in the plumes, with smaller amounts being lost as ice grains. The team calculates the water reserves must have large evaporating surfaces, or they would freeze easily and stop the plumes.

“We imagine that between the ice and the ice core there is an ocean of depth and this is somehow connected to the surface reservoir,” added Postberg.

The Cassini mission discovered Enceladus’ water-vapor and ice jets in 2005. In 2009, scientists working with the cosmic dust analyzer examined some sodium salts found in ice grains of Saturn’s E ring but the link to subsurface salt water was not definitive. The new paper analyzes three Enceladus flybys in 2008 and 2009 with the same instrument, focusing on the composition of freshly ejected plume grains. In 2008, Cassini discovered a high “density of volatile gases, water vapor, carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide, as well as organic materials, some 20 times denser than expected” in geysers erupting from the moon. The icy particles hit the detector target at speeds between 15,000 and 39,000 MPH (23,000 and 63,000 KPH), vaporizing instantly. Electrical fields inside the cosmic dust analyzer separated the various constituents of the impact cloud.

“Enceladus has got warmth, water and organic chemicals, some of the essential building blocks needed for life,” said Dennis Matson in 2008, Cassini project scientist at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California.

“This finding is a crucial new piece of evidence showing that environmental conditions favorable to the emergence of life can be sustained on icy bodies orbiting gas giant planets,” said Nicolas Altobelli, the European Space Agency’s project scientist for Cassini.

“If there is water in such an unexpected place, it leaves possibility for the rest of the universe,” said Postberg.

No injuries after Antarctica research station support plane crashes

Tuesday, December 25, 2007

A Basler BT-67, chartered from Canadian air carrier Kenn Borek Air for the National Science Foundation (NSF), a United States government agency, has crashed whilst attempting take-off during a support assignment in Antarctica. None of the ten people on board were injured, but the modified Douglas DC-3 was substantially damaged in the accident.

The accident occurred on the morning of December 20 local time, about 550 miles from McMurdo Station, a US-run Antarctic base. The aircraft was carrying a crew of four, and six researchers. The flight was part of the Polar Earth Observatory Network project, which is part-funded by the NSF. The project sets up GPS equipment and seismic sensors in various locations across Antarctica, in order to monitor changes in the ice sheets that cover the continent. It is thought that this will aid understanding of global warming.

Although the NSF refused to publicise any details of the crash, one anonymous passenger has come forward about the accident, releasing his account in the form of an online report. According to the passenger, one side of the plane failed to lift off, and the aircraft’s wing subsequently dug into the ice.

“My seat came unbolted from the floor with me still strapped into the seatbelt,” the passenger said. “When we finally came to a halt, we were all in big pile in the corner of the plane with all of the equipment. We got shaken up pretty bad, but there were no major injuries other than some minor cuts and bruises… The wings, props, and tail all got bent up pretty bad. The landing gear, skis, and hydraulic system all were ripped from the plane and strewn about the ice.”

Following the accident, all those on board spent about twenty hours before they were flown back to McMurdo Station on board two Twin Otter aircraft sent from the base on a rescue mission. A full investigation has been launched into the crash by the Department of the Interior‘s Aircraft Management Division (AMD), who have signed a memorandum of agreement with NSF to conduct any necessary investigations on their behalf. The AMD have subsequently contacted the United States National Transportation Safety Board, who will participate in conjunction with the Transportation Safety Board of Canada.

Two nuclear leaks in two weeks trigger security and safety reviews in France

Saturday, July 26, 2008

On July 7 and again on July 23, there were accidental leaks at the Tricastin Nuclear Power Center in France, which is a collection of sites in four different communes: Saint-Paul-Trois-Châteaux and Pierrelatte in Drôme, and Bollène and Lapalud in Vaucluse.

Along with two other minor incidents on July 18, it has prompted the Commission for Independent Research and Information on Radioactivity (Criirad) to order a review of security and safety. Already last week, Environment Minister Jean-Louis Borloo said the ground water near all reactors should be tested and the state of waste storage sites assessed.

In the latest incident, a hundred workers were exposed to radiation. They all work for Électricité de France (EDF), which runs the Tricastin facilities with Areva. This marks the largest number of workers to be collectively contaminated in French nuclear history.

The leak was at reactor number four, which was shut for refuelling. Workers were exposed to Cobalt 58 dust which escaped while maintenance work was being carried out. Sensors noticed a rise in the level of radiation and the workers were then evacuated.

“Seventy of them show low traces of radioelements, below one fortieth of the authorized limit,” EDF said. A spokesperson later raised the number to 97 people. Criirad warned, however, that the limit was “not the level from which risk begins but the maximum acceptable level.”

“We have an alarm system which is meant to protect the staff from contamination via the atmosphere,” said Tricastin director Alain Peckre. “If a problem is detected, the alarms go off, our security procedures swing into place and everyone is evacuated from the building.”

A union representative from Confédération générale du travail (CGT) alleged that EDF was reducing maintenance and increasingly using sub-contractors, putting workers at risk in exchange for profitability.

“We spend 1.5 billion euros a year on ensuring our plants are in optimum condition,” countered an EDF spokesperson. “Safety is our top priority over and above providing electricity to the network. Since our power stations were set up, 80 per cent of maintenance operations on reactors that have been temporarily turned off are carried out by external contractors. They are the most competent to maintain and repair specific parts of the reactor, some of which they have taken part in building.”

The previous incident, on July 8, involved a 74kg spill of liquid containing unenriched uranium. Thirty cubic metres of water overflowed while a tank was being emptied. Subsequent test showed that contamination may have occurred for years.

Local wine growers Coteaux du Tricastin AOC have already become concerned about the negative association with “Tricastin” and have begun considering changing the name of their Appellation d’origine contrôlée (AOC).

“It’s only a question of image as nuclear and food don’t mix very well in consumers’ minds,” said the AOC’s president, Henri Bour, to The Daily Telegraph. Nuclear authorities “didn’t understand our move, doubtless not wanting to admit that the nuclear industry’s image is perhaps not perfect,” he added.

“Nuclear was progress and we wanted that. We thought people were competent. Now we ask, were there previous incidents we weren’t told about?” said local resident Roger Eymard to The Guardian.

Autorité de sûreté nucléaire (ASN), a nuclear safety authority, has already criticised Areva for its handling of the first incident. ASN complained of poor communication with authorities and unsatisfactory security measures and operational procedures.

The leaks have occurred just as President Nicolas Sarkozy has been promoting the European Pressurized Reactor (EPR) as a solution to rising energy costs and global warming.

France has the second largest nuclear power network in the world and generates over 80% of its electricity through nuclear power.

Reign The Mobile Era With Responsive Magento Website Design

Reign The Mobile Era With Responsive Magento Website Design

by

Kanhaiya Jha

The world of website designing is evolving at a fast pace. Gone are the days, when dynamic websites would have been enough to suffice the need of online businesses. Today, businesses seek to harness more benefits from their online portals. Websites are not just a means to display products and services; rather they are the face of online brands for businesses. This drastic evolution in the basic requisites of online businesses has resulted in the introduction of new designing concepts that can cater to these changing needs. One such concept is that of responsive web designing.

A responsive web design is that form of design which adjusts its dimensions and other elements as per the size of the device on which it is being viewed. Such web designs are a common feature these days especially in the ecommerce land. Responsive web design is the first choice of ecommerce store owners who want to enhance the usability of their store and expand its reach.

Choosing Magento for Your E-Commerce Venture

The ecommerce industry is growing steadily. By 2012, U.S. alone is projected to account for $335 billion of ecommerce sales. With the growing number of online customers, the number of online stores is also increasing rapidly. However, to launch a successful web store, it is essential to begin by choosing the right platform. Enter Magento, aptly called the platform for growth.

Magento is a renowned name in the ecommerce industry whose rich feature set, scalability, flexibility and robustness has found appreciators in ecommerce industry pros. It is the fastest growing ecommerce solution in the market today, with 750,000 downloads already.

Magento has numerous features that make it a favored choice for developing online stores. But, the most acclaimed feature of this development platform is that it supports responsive web designs. This means, websites built using Magento are highly responsive and can be viewed across various platforms including desktops, laptops, tablets and smart phones.

Why is Magento Responsive Web Design Favorable?

Magento responsive design is a hot topic in the designing fraternity currently. Several business owners are exploring the avenue of responsive web design to expand the capabilities of their ecommerce stores. As a result, a large number of responsive themes and web templates are available for the Magento development platform.

A few years ago, when the concept of responsive design surfaced in the web arena, it created several ripples. It bestowed users with the freedom of viewing a website on variety of devices including tablets, smart phones and computers. This design does not solely affect the overall layout of a site, but also alters the videos, images and content displayed on your ecommerce store.

Advantages of Magento Responsive Web Design

There are numerous advantages of opting for Magento responsive design, the main advantage being- you need not create multiple websites to be viewed on multiple platforms. You can have a single online store that displays all your products, remains unaffected by the format of the screen, browser or platform on which it is viewed. It considerably cuts down the development cost.

At the same time, it reduces the operational costs involved in maintaining multiple websites. Isn t this what every website owner desires- saving money while getting a fully functional online Magento store.

Another reason to opt for Magento responsive design is to search engine optimization. As you design a single website that will be operational on multiple platforms, your store will be more accessible and thus, will get more hits. Furthermore, all the traffic influx generated by these hits is directed to one place- your ecommerce store. This is highly beneficial from SEO point of view rather than having different websites for different devices. In that case, the traffic of each website would be competing against one another.

Ecommerce websites built using Magento platform are highly scalable and responsive. Moreover, they are search-engine friendly and can handle heavy traffic influx. Thus, if you wish to unveil a successful online ecommerce venture, opting for responsive Magento design will be a smart move.
